We made it to New Orleans after a long morning of traveling from Albuquerque to Houston to New Orleans. After picking up our rental car, we drove to St. Bernards Parish, where we checked into our destination. The place we are staying at graciously cooked us and the other groups who were staying there a true New Orleans jambalaya dinner. We met other college Alternative Spring Break trip groups from Huntsville, TX, Reno, NV, and Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. It was exciting to see that other students were donating their spring breaks to help Hurricane Katrina survivors. After filling our tummies with the New Orleans feast, we headed to Bourbon Street at the French Quarter to do some sight-seeing.After a long day of traveling and fun, we are back at our bunks and excited for our first day of orientation and work with St. Bernard Project. Stay tuned for more!
